Ned Garthe Explosion
10 trillion years ago, when dinosaurs and dragons fought with spells and shit, a band was formed.
From the fiery depths of Mt. Doom the great volcano brought the four men to life. Out of the lava, four dudes naked as hell crawled out into the world. Fire n' shit was all over the place. This super rad wizard with a kick ass beard named all the dudes; Ned, Stuart, Tyler, and Spencer all ancient forgotten names from a forgotten language from a forgotten galaxy. The wizard gave the dudes some killer instruments that sounded crazy good. The four rad bros rocked through the ages.
Colfax Speed Queen
Once born out of the crystal clear Rocky Mountain water, Colfax Speed Queen quickly dirtied their bones with distortion, tremolo, and plenty of slap back reverb just like their heroes from the 60's and 70's. CSQ is far from a revival band though. They're an original breed of garage, punk, rock, and surf. CSQ is not about going fast. They're about being hopped up and strung out on life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Tyto Alba was formed in 2014 around the talents of singer/songwriter/guitarist Melanie Steinway, guitarist Matt Rossi, bassist Ryan Self, and drummer Jeremy Van Zandt. Emotional, dynamic and provocative, the band draws upon modern acts like Death Cab for Cutie, The Jungle Giants and Local Natives. Steinway and Self previously played together in Steinway's folk-rock outfit Howl Moonshine Howl, while Rossi and Van Zandt performed in Rossi's rock band Umbrella Weather. Upon the merging of these two relationships, the synergy was immediately apparent. Steinway's softer fingerpicking folk background interweaves with Rossi's rambunctious jazz/rock style for a unique guitarist dynamic laced with vocal harmonies. When Tyto Alba performed their first show, audience members were shocked that it was their first live performance due to their natural on-stage chemistry and evident connection. By daytime, Steinway is an illustrator, designer and tattooist, lending her artistic skills to every aspect of the band from their gig posters to the EP design. Much of the band's aesthetic, visually and musically, draws from Steinway's love of animals and nature, no doubt a product of her Colorado upbringing. Four contrasting musical backgrounds come together in this energetic new Denver indie-rock band as they propel themselves head-first into the eclectic Colorado music scene.
Tyto Alba is pleased to announce that they have released their debut five track EP titled 'Oh Tame One' on March 6th. The EP is a proud collaborative effort of local musicians, with the recording and mixing done by Noah Simons of post-punk band Male Blonding. The EP was self-released and is available on Bandcamp, iTunes and Spotify."
