Hang Rounders' music is best heard on a dance floor, where it is allowed to do its work and get you movin', singin', and bringin' (your sister).
Their new album, "Outta Beer, Outta Here," was recorded and mixed in Nashville at The Bomb Shelter by Andrija Tokic and Ed DuQuesne (Alabama Shakes, The Deslondes, Benjamin Booker, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Langhorne Slim) and mastered by John Baldwin (Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Emmylou Harris, Sly Stone). It features guest musicians from several notable Nashville-based acts (Natural Child, Birdcloud, Thunderbitch, Clear Plastic Masks, Lost Dog Street Band, Chrome Pony).
"Undeniably American roots music at its finest." -- Brett Callwood, Westword
"'Outta Beer, Outta Here' has both a stamp of grade-A quality and the rough-and-tumble that makes it sound good." -- Rachel Cholst, No Depression
Comprised of Colorado and Wyoming musicians, the Rocky Mountain Contraband incorporates a traditional lineup with guitar, pedal steel and fiddle at the forefront.
CPROpenAir: "The record blends southern country with psychedelic and garage rock into a genre that singer and founder
Courtney Whitehead dubs "cosmic country."
Westword: "When Whitehead writes about loss, love and resentment, there is a psychological and social awareness that informs the lyrics with an uncommon humanity and compassion that transcends genre. Because of that and the group's innovative sounds and song structures, it is impossible to pigeonhole Bison Bone as just another Americana band."
