Toying With Sex

Author: Abbie Acworth
Are you toying with sex?

Whether or not you are happy with your sex life so far, do you sometimes feel there could be more? Would you like to explore new sensations but don't know where to start? Are you nervous about expanding your sexual horizons?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions, one good way is to try some sex toys.

Intercourse and masturbation can be fantastic and I don't suggest that sex toys should take their place. On the contrary, sex toys used intelligently can enhance both.

Sex, particularly in a long term relationship, can become a bit 'samey' even boring. Introduce sex toys in a fun way and suddenly novelty is brought back together with some new sensations and the relationship is reborn. This applies to gay and lesbian couples just as much as to heterosexual couples.

For instance when a man and a women have penetrative sex, a toy that slips over the penis such as the pussy aggressor (unfortunate name!) or a simple vibrating ring such as the vibrating orgasm ring can help the woman reach orgasm. They can also help the man maintain an erection.

Most sex toys can be used by one person on their own but it is more fun and erotic to use them together with a partner (if you have one).

Some people (most often women) who have been unable to have an orgasm through 'normal' sex find that a strong vibrator will work wonders and bring them to orgasm for the very first time. More than that, by having orgasms using a vibrator a person can subconsciously learn how to have them and they may then find they can orgasm during sexual activity even without a vibrator.

Many women find orgasms using a vibrator are more intense than any others. This does not mean they necessarily prefer vibrator generated orgasms. For women especially sex is usually much more than just an orgasm. The touch and feeling of penetration by their lover is also very important.

The main point to bear in mind is to keep things light-hearted. There are some sex play situations (some role playing and often BDSM type activities) where a serious atmosphere is important but in most cases some laughter and a feeling of fun makes for better sex and a better relationship. This applies particularly when experimenting with sex toys.

So, get toying with sex ... toys!
