Why Military Research and Development is a Good Thing

Author: Lance Winslow

Military research and development has long had its critics from those who are linear in thought and do not study the history of our species. Indeed our most recent past periods show that the money we have spent in R and D in things like ARPA and now DARPA have given us such things as Nuclear Power, Microwave Ovens, New Materials, Medicines, Medical Devices and even the Internet. That's right without the military R and D we would not even be able to use this medium to communicate today. So thanks so much for the past budget allotments of military R and D.

Some have condemned the Unite States for their war and weapon advancements without considering this point and that is a shame really, as all nations have benefited by the US research in war activities. No one condones going out and killing one's own species, however people must realize that if you live in a country like the United States of America, which just happens to be the greatest nation ever created in the history of the mankind then you must protect it. Fore you see all we are today and all we have built did not come free and we must protect it.

Yesterday we saw the military research give us these things mentioned above, as well as advances in computers, robotics, transportation, marine, aviation, satellites, space, education, communication, agriculture, mining, biotech, nanotech, manufacturing and distribution. In fact if I were to name each industry sector that military R and D transfer technologies have assisted the human endeavor in the past 100 years alone, the list would be longer than this article. So consider this in 2006.
