I Hear You

Author: Lance Winslow

So often in our society we hear people complain about various things in our civilization and most of their complaints to at least have some validity. That is to say even if they are perception based they are in fact issues that need to be dealt with.

I say to the complainers of society; I Hear You. But I also say to the complainers of society it is time to stop complaining and start looking in the mirror and figuring out what you can do to help the situation. Thinking globally is smart, but if you are not doing your part locally that you are actually part of the problem and not part of the solution.

Please believe me when I say I'm not pointing this out at you in particular. As I travel around I see many people in many lands with the same complaints or similar complaints around similar scenarios and yet I see the same thing each time.

Someone will complain about global warming for instance and to refuse to carpool. Someone will complain about the environment and leave the lid off of their trash cans when they put them out in front of their house during high winds.

Rather than living in hypocrisy perhaps we should live in a vision for the forward progression of the species and that would include you. You see, I Hear You, but at the same time I Do Not See You and I cannot tell from your actions that you really care.

Anyone can complain, but it takes all of us to make a change. Will you please look in the mirror for me and I promise to look in the mirror for you. Let's work together on this and let's start by asking ourselves what we can do as individuals to help the common good. Please consider this in 2006.
