Bio Terrorism

Author: Lance Winslow

We have been hearing a lot on the news lately about bio-terrorism and its problematic issues, which if kept unchecked could end the human race as we know it. How serious is Bio-terrorism? Should we be concerned, stock up on supplies? What can we do to protect ourselves? Are we really safe? Well if you have had such thoughts due to the mass media hysteria on your nightly news, you are not alone. Unfortunately for all of us there is a bit of truth to the bio-terrorism scare. If you are truly seeking answers to these questions and more, then let me recommend a book to you:

"GERMS," By Judith Miller, Stephen Engelberg and William Broad.

This is a great book about how foreign governments respect Bio-Weapons treaties. The games they play, the hypocrisy of the United Nations inspection teams, the outright lies of the former Soviet government. It talks of the burying of Bio Weapons under the airports in Iraq, the convenient burning of various filing cabinets, the thousands and thousands of tons of bio weapons and Billions spent in their creation. At one point it was estimated that there was enough produced agents to kill the entire population of the Earth several times over. The Russians (everybody 6 times), the Iraqis (everybody once), the Japanese all have Anthrax in rapid dispensing technologies for maximum penetration of populations. Another book that is of value to read in all of this is:

"The Hot Zone", By Richard Preston,

It talks about our own US practice with the Anthrax virus and Ebola virus in an animal hospital in Washington DC, and a break out that was kept secret. In the Germs book they talk about United Nations Weapons inspection teams walking right by weapons marked Black and White stripes, which were Bio Weapons, and they were simply told they were something else. Later when a defector scientist left he told the world those were the ones dummies. The book is extremely scary because it shows how bad this problem really is. The UN is a waste of time. And you cannot make treaties with people who sign but have no intention of carrying them out. I can tell you from years of contract negotiation in the franchising world that it is all BS with those who do not believe in the written word, who lie to your face and then hold you to the utmost of standards after they break their end of the bargain. We do not want to look bad to the world so we let it go and sign a new treaty. Treaties with these nations are a joke, the UN is a joke in this regard and we are going to have to police the world or destroy those who oppose us if we are to be safe.

The scientific community is alarmed and many have retreats far away from civilization just in case. After reading this book it is no wonder. If you only have time to read one of these books, read Germs. But do not be so naive to think that we too are not so innocent in these biological endeavors. We are somewhat following the treaties. But the other side is no longer in the gray area of the treaties, they have been crossed that line for decades. In our treaties if a country attacks us with biological weapons we may then nuke them. So be ready for what may resemble Arthur C Clarks book "Richter Ten" in the opening scenario. I hope you understand the serious nature of these issues, if not read these books and then think on it.
