Should we be paying more attention to our trade deficit? Should the United States be keeping an eye on our money flow both in and out of our country? Is it important to our countrys economic engine and the wealth of our nation to constantly monitor and collect data on the flow of trade? Well yes, it goes without saying that the US ought to stay on top of money flows both leaving and coming into the country. And yes we also need to watch our economy; that goes without saying. But, realize that China has 400 million people without water, 600 million living in poverty and they are stealing our patents and bootlegging American products and innovation. They are still their manipulating currency, selling weapons of mass destruction or delivery systems capable of to our enemies or potential nation states, which are not necessarily our allies and could become our enemies tomorrow. We know that China does not have proper control of their environment and we know that their dust storms go half way around the world with particulate. Their water is polluted, their nearby seas are over fished and some say they are planning a Sun Tzu style war with their neighbor in order to insure re-unification of Taiwan. China has technology spies in our country some say as many as 3500. Look I could go on for hours. Some who study these things have been making some fairly serious comments such as: How dare they make such a statement like that to the greatest nation in the history of mankind on the surface of the planet, how dare they chastise the best country in the history of civilizations after 10,000 recorded years of their own history documenting dynasty after dynasty of human rights abuses. Whereas I personally am not so outspoken in public that the critics are right about one thing and that is; This is the greatest nation on the planet and it is very unwise for one of the Chinese Generals to state that if we defend Taiwan that they may use nuclear weapons against the United States. It is talk like this from China that will get them in big economic trouble by pushing us, the US Citizen to boycott their products. The truth is that we need a level playing field and we need it now. As far as our own economic front well indeed, we could use a few less lawyers and less over regulation and tighter control of money flows leaving our country. Yet, as soon as we start monitoring our money flows, China is top of the list. Canada and Mexico combined are only at 90 billion a year in trade deficit while China could potentially push 400 billion soon. Sun Tzu ought watch out, because Carl von Clauswitz takes no prisons. No more games with China, enough rhetoric in the world press. These are just a few of the topics that World Economic Think Tanks are considering at this time. Think on it. |
