There are several over the counter medication on the market today that are designed to remove warts, but those to are expensive and it is a fifty-fifty chance that they will not work. There are several home remedies that have proven effective for many people. For warts that are on hands, cocoa butter applied just before bedtime and covered in plastic gloves has been effective for some people.

There are some bizarre remedies that people swear have worked. Slicing garlic and placing it on the wart with a band-aid and changing it everyday for two weeks will result in the warts disappearing. Some people swear by using clear nail polish on the wart for one week resulted in the wart falling off. This could be due to the nail polish sealing out all oxygen.

Other people have sworn that by applying apple cider vinegar to the wart and covering it with a band-aid resulted in the wart falling off in less then a week. There is no doubt that there are many different types of wart remedies. Some are really bizarre, and if you are uncomfortable with using any of these methods, you can go to your local pharmacist and ask him or her what the best course of treatment should be.

Sometimes there is no other choice but to go to a dermatologist, especially if the wart is on your face. However treating it at home is usually the easiest and most popular choice for individuals to try as most of the warts can be removed with home treatment.
