UAV Quadrangulation

Author: Lance Winslow

Many have indicated the need for better target identification by UAVs or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in the battlespace. These proponents discuss the use of multiple net-centric components of the modern fighting force to engage in the precise measuring of exact locations of enemy targets. This idea is totally brilliant because this data could quadrangulate all the distance measurement for a positive kill every time. And as far as night kills go it would be great as the UAVs could have excellent heat signature sensors.

A ground Sniper, actual human could confirm the kill and the helicopter UAV? Could initiate firing. Hunt and kill small UAVs. It is the way of the future, saves money, efficient and smart. Good stuff. This is an excellent idea indeed. Others wonder if those UAV helicopters folks are already working on this, because hitting individual bad guys saves money and is very efficient, collateral damage makes us look like tyrants and hurts the United States image to keep everyone around the world on our side. Range and Recoil issues must be addressed also as when UAVs fire they move a little in their flight path due to the recoil. UAVs which are small and light could accomplish the same mission as a more expensive drone "Predator with Hell-Fires" at a fraction of the costs, perhaps firing a single sniper type round from a birds eye view.

You can bet our UAV researchers are thinking here and that such plans are in the works to save our soldiers lives and prevent excessive collateral damage. Now that is a smart munitions tactic indeed. Think on this.
