Dallas Activities and Sites

Author: Nicky Parkall
Visiting Dallas is a great way to spend your vacation or for a weekend get-away. The state of Texas is amazing in its own right but tourists have proven that Dallas is the most visited city in Texas. Dallas is situated on the Trinity River and has many creeks and small tributaries that branch off into the city. You can take a walk along the Trinity and enjoy the many trees that line the path, including oak trees, cottonwood trees, and pecan trees.

Dallas is extremely important in the financial and business area of the southwest United States. You'll find that the city is always busy with one convention or another and claims to be the busiest convention city in North America. If you are planning to stay overnight in Dallas you will have a multitude of fine hotels to choose from to fit your budget, whether you are looking for budget accommodation or want a luxury suite. If you want to be a part of the hustle and bustle of Dallas you can find a hotel in the downtown convention center area. If you want a quieter place to stay you can consider a hotel in the suburbs or out near the airport.

You won't be restricted to financial interests when you visit Dallas. There are art and cultural exhibits not to be missed. One of the most interesting museums is the African American Museum situated at Fair Park. As you tour it you will learn much about African American culture and heritage that you hadn't known before. You will also have a number of art galleries to choose from if you wish.

Children are sure to find the Dallas Children's Museum exciting and interactive. With hands-on activities, children play life-like scenarios such as a farm, hospital, grocery store and firehouse. Lots of fun and great play in a learning situation.

Of course, no trip is complete without doing some shopping. If you love clothes, you will adore the second hand designer clothes created by Armani, Donna Karan and Emanual. Sports lovers will also love Dallas. There are terrific golf courses to challenge you. Later you will dine in one of the many great Dallas restaurants.

Regardless of what time of the year you visit Dallas, you'll find something fun to do and leave with a desire to comeback for more.
