Pamper Yourself Now - Or Pay The Price Later!

Author: Sarah Tanner

Pampering yourself is critical to your mental health and general well-being. You must take the time to pamper yourself in some way every single day.

If you don't take the time to do this - and the more stressed you are, the more vital it is that you do this - your well-being will suffer.

If you are a parent; if you are under a lot of pressure at work; if life circumstances are beginning to overload your stress level - and if living under high stress has become a way of life for you - you must pamper yourself to feel a sense of freedom and pleasure.

Life has many purposes, but one of the reasons we are on this earth is to enjoy this wonderful world, not to drag around miserable all the time!

Does life sometimes seem to be full of problems? The great Anthony Robbins says that when we have a problem, we need to focus 20% of our time on the problem, and 80% of our time on the solution.

Some of us have been programmed not to be "selfish" and we automatically see pampering ourselves as something selfish and wasteful. Not true!

Pampering oneself is essential to a well-balanced life. In an airplane emergency, the parent is supposed to strap on his own air bag first, then help the child. In the same way, we have to take care of ourselves in order to have what it takes to take care of others.

Are other people looking to you for strength? Then you must maintain and nourish your own strength by taking care of yourself.

Just as your body cannot survive without nourishment, neither can your mind and emotions. You must give to yourself in order to be able to give to others. So make a commitment now to regularly pamper yourself.

Believe me, if you don't, it will show - and if you do, it will show!!

Yes, stress does show on the face. The appearance of being stressed out ages a person more than anything else. Unrelieved stress will ultimately undermine your health. Don't wait until the signs of disease strike you before you start taking care of yourself.

Only you know what will truly make you feel pampered. It could be as simple as a cat nap. It could be buying a little something for yourself.

It could be fresh, clean sheets. It could be a favorite sweater that makes you feel cozy and comforted. It could be your favorite movie. It could be a nice cup of hot tea. It doesn't have to take a lot of time or be expensive.

Your surroundings are essential to your mental and emotional health. You need to have things around you which cheer you up regularly. These things include: photos of special people and things, good smells, a house or apartment or room that you have made your own through your own touches, a comfy blanket, flowers, and mementos.

You will find that doing even a few special things for yourself, including things which make you look or feel better, will pay dividends in a multitude of ways - you will have more energy, a sweeter disposition, more encouragement, and patience.

Feeling better will also encourage you to do even more things for yourself that will help you - whether it's finding a better job, furthering your education, or making this world a better place for others in a way that is uniquely yours.

Try this now and you will truly see the benefits in how you feel and how you are able to cope with life's endless stream of challenges. You will feel more serene and have more energy. You will be renewed to meet and greet the challenges of your life with a better outlook and more compassion and confidence.

Don't wait another day - pamper yourself in some way today.
