Bear and the Beasts
Bear and the Beasts are a rowdy 6-piece soul-tinged Americana band from Denver that blends elements of folk, jazz, and roots into a cosmic sound that can explode like a quasar or float like a Tesla Roadster through space. With a white-knuckled, bone-rattling intensity and a compositional command that is downright orchestral, they tackle themes such as social justice, death, and millennial malaise with a paradoxical sense of gravitas and irreverence. Backed with devastatingly powerful songwriting, delicately crafted vocal harmonies, and lush, innovative horn arrangements, Bear and the Beasts have created a powerful tour de force that can turn the diviest bar into a tent revival.
Tony Goffredi & The Strangely Familiar
Tony Goffredi is a Denver artist whose indie rock packs a punch that will make you stop in your tracks. With powerful vocals and ambient guitar work, Tony creates a sound bigger than himself that will draw you in. He is joined by the Strangely Familiar, Kevin Laxar on bass and Christopher Ryan on drums. In some ways this project is a re-imagining of Tony's solo work, in other ways it is something else entirely. It is the musical equivalent to nostalgia for a place you've never been. We hope you enjoy.
Forming in early 2016, plainFARADAY is an indie folk project hailing from Colorado. The backbone of the group consists of the father-son duo, Caleb (vocals and guitar) and Rob Sanders (upright bass). The Denver area combo is frequently partnering with other local artists including cellist Katie Burns and percussionist Ellis Murray to create, record and perform.
plainFARADAY’s indie sound lies somewhere between acoustic Americana and modern folk, often integrating aspects of bluegrass, blues and jazz. Performing mostly original songs, their quest for meaningful lyrics and dynamic compositions are guided by a respect for wood and steel, times past and present.
Working with local favorite The Spot Studio, the group released two singles in 2017, ‘Porcelain Fine’ and ‘My Friend’. They released a third single in April this year, Declivity in partnership with local music producer and coffee aficionado Tyler Venter. These songs are available online from most virtual stores and streaming platforms.
When not playing music, the group also enjoys chess throw downs, hucking a disc with friends in the warm Colorado sun and exploring the inspiring Rocky Mountains.
