Bleep Bloop
Bleep Bloop
FOR YEARS, THE bass scene in North America started to sound a tad stagnant, stuck in a perpetual
roundabout of recycled drops, cheap samples and aggressive robot noises. Then came a new crop of
curious rookies who reshaped and reinvigorated the sound by mixing in sonic elements from the realms
of industrial, glitch-hop and experimental Bleep Bloop, one of the fresh faces leading today's tripped-out
movement, flexes a type of bass crunch that could only really be described as outer space bass, which
is appropriate since the producer is most an alien himself. Bleep Bloop, born Aaron Triggs, initially made
waves on our planet in late 2014 as the first artist signed to DJ Shadow's Liquid Amber label.
Today, Bleep Bloop is one of the most exciting acts in bass music. His newly released EP, The Fifth
Pupil, keeps the basslines weird, wavy and glitched-out, with a taste of artsy bass surrealism.
