We got our start as a trio in 2009 and have since played more than 500 shows in the U.S., Canada and Europe. We've developed a loyal following among folks who appreciate rabble-rousing lyrics wrapped in a catchy melody.
Known for our long sets and short songs, a typical Haymarket Squares show features ecstatic dancing, blindingly fast mandolin, and broad smiles. Who knew changing the world (or at least singing about it) could be so much fun?
The trio is fronted by songwriter Al Trout, who weaves Lynchian narratives in a dusky baritone while skillfully holding down the bottom end on a blonde bombshell of an upright bass.
Anchoring the trinity with a vintage drum kit, rhythm slinger Rob Veitch brings plenty of swinging menace and palpitating pulse to the table as the big beat backbone of the group.
Guitarist Cody Tantalo is the lifeblood of the triumvirate, whose dexterous fingers cast spooky reverb-laden shadows and moody silhouettes from the fretboard of his Harmony Rocket.
Together these three heavy hitters create a distinctive sound that is calculated, cinematic, and completely compelling. Keep a wary eye on the lookout for Crime City Curs, as they'll soon be tearing it up at a music venue near you!
