Beauty Schools

Author: K. Monteith

Beauty schools instruct individuals in the profession of hairdressing, cosmetics, skincare, massage, and many other personal care specialties. Beauty schools offer training opportunities and comprehensive curriculums that can enhance and develop a career in the field of beauty, and future beauty consultants have a wide variety of schools to choose from.

Beauty schools teach the skills needed to color cut and style hair. They also provide instruction in chemical mixing for hair treatments. Students learn how to give manicures and pedicures and apply artificial nails. They also learn skincare techniques such as facials and moisturizing, and they are taught the art of make-up application. Some beauty schools offer massage techniques and herbal wrap applications to enhance skin tone.

The field of beauty offers many interesting positions that range from hairstylist to manicurist to makeup artist. Beauticians can find work in hair and nail salons, and in many other related areas, including entertainment, private consultation, and product sales. Regulations vary from state to state, but the goal of a good <>is to train and prepare professionals to attain state licensing or certification.
